Flamingo Gardens and the Everglades Wildlife Sanctuary
The Flamingo Gardens is where you will find the Wray Botanical Collection and this whole area covering something like 50 acres. There are lots of nice animals and birds here other than flamingos, like butterflies, gators and things like that. Nice lot of pretty flowers too.

The Busy Port Everglades
Now the third busiest port, the Port Everglades is always bustling. Big cruise liners regularly arrive here from Nassau and it is fun to watch the liners arriving, small in the distance and slowly getting larger and larger as they get nearer and nearer. There is always something to watch here.

Walking along the Las Olas Riverfront in Fort Lauderdale
Take a walk right over to the far side of the Las Olas Boulevard. You won't be sorry you did. It's not that far really and there are some nice big houses near to the causeway. Lots of gleaming yachts as well, and shops. If you do find it a bit tiring, then stop of at a cafe on the way and get yourself a slice of cake. We did just that.

The Butterfly World - Very Nice
Fluttery by butterfly. The Butterfly World is Ft Lauderdale is on West Sample Road and is a chance to get really close up and personal with some really colorful and large butterfly specimens as they fly around the tropical gardens, although you mustn't touch them. It was quite hot here and were also saw some nice flowers and speedy hummingbirds. My kids liked the bugs in the insectarium.
